Three Hunter machines do the measuring and the tire work in our shop: a HawkEye Elite alignment system, a Road Force Elite wheel balancer and a Maverick TCMW leverless tire changer. Here is what each one does for your vehicle—and why we chose it.
Hunter equipment at our shop
Every one of them exists for the same reason: to measure accurately before we adjust anything. The measurements come first, then the explanation, then the work.
Our computerised wheel alignment measurements come from the Hunter HawkEye Elite. It reads the angles that position each wheel and compares them with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications, so every adjustment is based on numbers rather than guesswork.
A standard balance only measures weight around the wheel. The Hunter Road Force Elite also measures the force variation as the tire rolls under load — the runout and stiffness that a conventional balancer cannot see. It is the difference between a wheel that is balanced on paper and one that rides smooth at highway speed.
The Hunter Maverick TCMW is a leverless tire changer. It mounts and demounts the tire without a pry bar touching the wheel, using variable hydraulic control, and its wheel lift raises the tire to the table for the technician. For alloy wheels in particular, that means no scratches or gouges from tire service.
Equipment questions
Equipment sets the limit on what a shop can measure and correct. Alignment angles, road force variation and tire damage are things a technician has to be able to see before anything can be fixed properly. Better measurement means fewer guesses and fewer comebacks.
A regular balance corrects weight distribution and solves most vibrations. A road force balance goes further by measuring force variation in the tire and wheel assembly, which is often what is behind a shake that keeps coming back at highway speed. We check the symptom first and explain which one fits.
Our tire changer is leverless and brings the tire to the table with a wheel lift, so no pry bar drags across the rim. That is exactly the protection an aluminium wheel needs.
Yes. Every wheel alignment includes a printed before-and-after report, so you can see the measurements and what was adjusted.
